MoU sign up and a technical talk on “Advanced feature on Design and Digitization”

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized MoU sign up and atechnical talk on “Advanced feature on Design and Digitization” for students of Mechanical Engineering.

The guests of this program were Mr. G K Mruthyunjaya Gouda, Principal, Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Baikampady, Magalore and Dr.Jayavardhan M L, STTP coordinator, GTTC Rajajinagar, Bangalore. The keynote speaker was Mr.Arunachalam Alagappan, Engineer Technical Services, Design Tech Systems Private Limited, Pune.

The program was presided by Dr. S.I Manjur Basha, Principal, Bearys Institute of Technology, Mangalore, Dr. Aziz Mustafa B, Principal, Bearys Institute of Emerging sciences and Dr.Vasantha Kumar, HOD, Department of Mechanical Engineering, BIT Mangalore. Ar. Ruksana Algur, Prinipal, BEADS, Mangalore and Mr.Prithviraj M, Director, BIT Polytechnic witnessed the program.

The program was conducted at “International Seminar Hall, BIT”, on 22nd November 2022. The event started at 10.00 a.m with Mr.Swasthik 7thSem Mechanical Student’s Masters of Ceremony initiation by addressing the gathering about the event and escorting of the dignitaries to the dais. Invocation by Mr.Surfraz and team of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering developed the aura for the program.

The program was welcomed by Dr.Vasantha Kumar, HOD, Department of Mechanical Engineering, BIT Mangalore. Principal Dr. S.I Manjur Basha gave the inaugural speech, in which he briefed about the importance of MoU and effective utilization of add on courses available at GTTC Mangalore. Also he congratulated organisers, HOD for providing a platform for Internship programs at GTTC centre of excellences.

Dr. Aziz Mustafa B, Principal, BIES spoke on this occasion and said about the 6D’s such as digitalization, deception, disruption, demonetise, dematerialization, democratization.

Mr.Gokuldas M, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, introduced both the guest invitees Mr. G K Mruthyunjaya Gouda, Principal, Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Baikampady, Mangalore and Dr.Jayavardhan M L, STTP coordinator, GTTC, Rajajinagar, Bangalore.

Mr. G K Mruthyunjaya Gouda, Principal, Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Baikampady, Mangalore gave information about the GTTC Mangalore centre. Also the start of GTTC, growth of GTTC and total number of GTTC centres in the state and job opportunities in the industries after the competition of GTTC courses.

The HOD, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bearys Institute of Technology, Mangalore signed up for a MoU (Memorandum of understanding) with the Principal, Government Tool Room and Training centre, Mangalore at this occasion.

Dr.Sateesh Kumar Kanakannavar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering gave introduction of the Key note speaker. Mr.ArunachalamAlagappan, Engineer Technical Services, Design Tech Systems Private Limited, Pune.

Mr.Arunachalam Alagappan, Engineer Technical Services, Design Tech Systems Private Limited, Pune, presented the different laboratory facilities available in the GTTC, explained about the reverse engineering, importance of 3D modelling and its application in industries. Also, he briefed different 3D modelling softwares such as CREO, OPTOCAD, and GRAB CAD.

Dr.Jayavardhan M L, STTP coordinator, GTTC, Rajajinagar, Bangalore, informed about the different courses available in the centre of excellences all over Karnataka. He also briefed about the facilities, discounts available for the short term courses to the benefit of the students.

The Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Mohammad Kafeel Delvi, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The program was concluded with the national anthem.
