Kundapur: Gatherings for Kannada songs held on the eve of Rajyotsava

Gatherings emphasising on talk and singing in Kannada were held at Pre university college, Kodi sea walk and in front of Mini Vidhan Saudha on Thursday, October 30 in view of Karnataka Rajyotsava.

Officials, general public, educational institute students and college students sang songs ‘Barisu Kannada Dindimava’ by poet Kuvempu, ‘Jogada Siri Belakinalli’ by Nisar Ahmed and ‘Huttidare Kannada Nadalli Huttabeku’ by Dr Hamsalekha.

The songs were sung together in front of Kundapur Mini Vidhan Saudha, Mahatma Gandhi garden, Ferry Road garden and Kundapur new bus stand.

The programme was organized by Kodi beary’s group near Kundapur Kodi Sea walk, Kodi Light tower and Bearys educational institute. Municipal council chief executive Gopalakrishna Shetty danced to the song ‘Huttidare Kannada Nadalli Huttabeku”. Kodi bearys institute teachers were present.

Assistant commissioner K Raju who set in motion the programme at Mini Vidhan Saudha said that Kannada should not be confined for a day or a month but should be in our veins.

Tahsildar Kiran Gorayya and village accountant Ananda Kumar were present. Akashwani singer sang a Kannada song.

Municipal council president Veena Bhasker and councillors took part in the programme at Ferry road park.

Council chief officer Gopal Krishna Shetty, standing committee president Shekar Poojary, members Girish Devadiga, Prabhaker V, Santhosh Kumar Shetty, Prabhavati Shetty, appointed member Pushpa Shet, Rathnaker Sheregar, people and students took part in the singing. Dr Raj Kumar Sanghatane president Rathnaker Poojary led the singing by the office bearers.
